I make one kind of pipe,
Since the good old days
TAGUA NUTS
and found them to be
LIVING SEED PIPES

When I first started making pipes
I never did like screens because

The TAGUA NUT is a seed or a nut from palm trees that grow in the tropics, mostly in South America.
The natives grind the TAGUA NUTS fresh from the tree, then they use this to make flour for bread and other things.
Long before plastic, TAGUA NUTS were used for fancy carvings and buttons, and still are today. Also, the TAGUA NUT has come to be an important substitute for walrus or elephant ivory. Instead of killing these animals for their ivory, the TAGUA NUT has come to be a practical substitute.
The TAGUA NUT can float, and does so across the oceans, landing on distant shores where they take root and sprout. They may take up to a hundred years before germinating.
After drying for a couple of months, TAGUA NUTS become harder than any hardwood on the planet.
There are many good reasons to use the TAGUA NUTS as a bowl for a pipe. One good reason is that since it is so hard and dense, it absorbs the heat but not the resin. -You'd rather have the heat going into the nut than down your lungs.
I think the best reason that a TAGUA NUT is so good as a bowl is that it has no taste. Because of this, you get the taste of what you are smoking, and nothing else. And I don't know about you, but I really like the taste of good smoke. That great taste is what you get with these pipes, like none other. And you get that great taste with every toke!

You won't find a lot of different types
of pipes at this site. That's because
I don't make a lot of different types of pipes.
I make the Best kind of Pipe.

I have explored the best
size, shape and
materials for the perfect pipe.
About ten years ago I discovered
the best material for
pipe bowls.
Since then
I've sold about 5000
from the seeds, or nuts, of a palm tree
that grows in the tropics. They're called
TAGUA NUTS
They're like a super-hard
brazil nut.
They're as hard as a cue ball.
They absorb the heat but not the resins.
They have no taste, so you get to taste
what you're smoking.
you could put your thumb in the bowl.
But now with the price and potency
of the stuff, I find a small,
deep bowl works best, and that it burns
thoroughly and completely.
they are a pain in the ass
and are sometimes hard to find and not
something I care to inhale.
I make these pipes so you don't
need a screen. You can just drop
a small stone or pebble in the
indentation at the bottom of the bowl,
if you want. You don't really need that,
though.
